Hi - don't want to get your hopes up
, I'm a newbie (but I learn just fast enough to get into trouble- which is what brings me to answer your post :o), but I have a great many number of tools that I have collected in my quest for knowlege and a bin file for my cdm-8915. (virgin mobile snapper)
I have actually been seeking just the file that you are currrently trying to load I believe... Where exactly did you get it, can you point me in that direction, or would you be willing to send me a copy of it?
I can send you all the utils I've collected, but I'm afraid I don't know which one might work for you, if any... but they are almost all the available for cdma/audiovox/utstarcom/pantech/pst - and a lot for the 8910 - at least it might save you some time looking for them if you can figure out which one is the one you need:) - (and there is always trial and error, since you do have the bu, yes?)
I take it that your phone model is the not the 212? what carrier were you trying to flash it to? Most of the stuff I have seen has been for Cricket or Verizon

Let me know what carrier it is. The model i'm trying to flash it on is utstarcom cdm-8915CS.

The 'VE' after T111 indicates that this is a Verizon firmware. If it were an Alltel firmware, the 'VE' would be 'AT'. For Cricket it would be 'CK' and so on. I don't know all the other vendor's prefixes, which you may or may not encounter, but this is likely a Verizon firmware based on it's name.
One thing you should know. While this is most likely a Verizon firmware based on the filename, that could be a little too presumptuous unless you can absolutely 'pre-validate' any firmwares you encounter. What do I mean??? If you know someone well enough that will vouch for the file, that should probably suffice.
I say this because sometimes, while 'cross-flashing' certain firmwares, it's required to rename the intended firmware to match the name of the firmware already in the phone (T111VEDT05_1.176 would be renamed something like T111CKDT05_1.176 if you were going from Verizon to Cricket. The T111 is the model while the CK indicates the carrier. The rest of the name depends on the provider as well as the build/version. Notice that the VE is replaced by CK. The remainder of the filename is different for different carriers.)
Sooooooo... If someone renamed a firmware and then uploaded it without properly renaming it, you could easily f.ck your phone during the flash. I say all this from experience. One final thing. It takes more than simply renaming the intended firmware. You have to ensure that you're using the proper flasher. If you're using a Verizon PST but you're gonna load a Cricket firmware onto a Verizon phone, you'll have to do some hex editing (basically replacing the VE somewhere in the dll via a hex editor with the CK or whatever carrier's prefix in question) as well. This last step I have never done, because I've always had the good fortune of using generic flashers.
Hope this helps.

so this file is not a 8915 firmware? I have a utstarcom cdm8915 celluar south.
8915 should look like so right???? T0212MVP02_5_8915SW.zip
I'm trying to flash with utstarcom pst and I get that message "not a binary file for PN 212 model"
ps. do you use the UTStarcom GE PST?

Unfortunately I couldn't tell you that. I don't mess with too many Audiovoxes, but I had to do some reading last week because we have a ton of 8910s that we can sell as our low end phones. Take a look over here. This ([Only Registered Users Can See Links]) is where I got the most useful info. This is specific to the 8910 though. I definitely can't vouch for the yahoo user group in post #8.
