as Angela told, many customers have problem connections with 4_in_1 cable. Many times got solution changing LapTop with DeskTop-PC. Setool can manage from 1 to 16 com-port numbers, but if 4_in_1 cable is working on greater com-port number there's no way to solve ( maybe). Other solutions may be make a more great range in the Com-Port_dropdownlistbox in SETool.

Hmm... I had checked "Complete phone after flash" in settings. And it failed when completing phone (i'm not 100% sure it was that error - but almost). Then i tried to complete phone again by removing flash files (empty fields) and click flash. And that message appeared every time. No script or anything was loaded.

Edit: I think it is a user error... :o I thought clicking "flash" without flashfiles loaded would "complete phone" (if complete phone is checked). But it seems that it's not doing that after all. Maybe you should prevent it from doing anything, when no flashes are loaded ;)

That reminds me: In latest version - how can we complete phone without flashing? Earlier we could click unlock/repair, and it would complete phone if "complete phone" was checked.

If 4-in-1-cable is working on a higher port-number than 16, just change port-settings like this:

1. Choose preferences for your cable in "Device manager"
2. Choose tab "Port Settings"
3. Click "Advanced"
4. Change port-number to a number between 1-16 (doesn't matter if it's in use)
5. If Windows asks you a stupid question if you really want to change the port-number because it's maybe not gonna work though you already use the port-number; the answer is yes (cause it will work anyway)
6. Disconnect and connect cable again
7. Problem solved

It would be nice if you could create a .xml settings file.

With possibility to save the settings, and also default path to flash files for each models etc.

One feature i think could be handy is an option to "auto-change CDA to generic". CDA could also be specified in xml file together with paths for flashfiles.

Just giving you some ideas, incase you don't have any work (which you probably always have) :D

About LG8380 there is a little bit of confusion.
When you want to unlock allready used LG8380 you need to flash only main flash file.
But, when flash brand new LG8380 only with main flash file, the phone stays in 'silence' mode .So you have two ways for sorting this out.By 'full reseting' in phones meni , or by writing really small _Drive_Rec.ssw.cry file together with _main.ssw.cry which is better for mass unlockers.

Phone now is dead, it do not turns on...

To revive i flashed all 4 patched files for 8330 and it showed "USIM GESPERT"....

So now i'm gonna to downgrade to 8130 with old patched files...

hallo everybody, hallo THE_(gran maestro)_LASER,

I starting just tonight to use new version of SW with new phone (8380), also because i need to read all thread about and variuos fixing.
I'm using UFS-3 and winXP sp1 on Athlon 2400+.

I flashed 2x8380 trying first speed 230400 in 1700sec and after 921600 (but it used 460800 of course) without any problem; only using file main and the little rec_flex.

After this I try to unlock an "just-flashed" clompletely (using FLASH_RW) 8138.

THIS IS THE RESULTS (Two new little, how to call... bugs - it is the only english word I know to describe)

1) chenghing setting (SPEED, PHONE TYPE) but also reducing to icon and back normal general window --> attaching the phone (without battery) it is set in charge (like when you forget to connect UFS before connect the cable to phone)

Fortunately I had reduced to icon and back several time during the flash without any problem or interruptions on flash action.

By the way it is really tedious each time you change PHONE TYPE or settings click twice on connect/disconnect UFS...

2) after click on Unlock (for 8138) using to the phone the famous 2945.... noting happen. I tried anso second time and third (because second lock again) without good result.

Which 8138 version? You should know that v102+ has no unlocking menu...

sorry, now i'm in office and can't check, but surely it was 102 (not 102+).

may be, this evening I'll flash again with only main_c file and unlock button and I'll report the result.

I tested 2 phones today LG 8330
The first
was downgraded from LG 8330 in Lg 8130 and the phone comes to me blinking.I try to flash with 3 new files Lg 8330 last pached from you with version V0.913729/uni and the phone is gonne dead,after i downgraded again with old files and the phone is alive but again with soft Lg 8130

The second phone commes from italy need to unlock with operator Lg3
with the same version 0.913729 speed 921600 i add 3 new files patched from yesterday Lg 8330 and VOILA ,the phone is unlocked

Any choise for the phone which we have unlocked before LG 8330 downgraded in Lg 8130 ,can we make again LG 8330???

dear gentleman, I'm really afraid not to be so good to explain the fact but if you have the patience to follow me and read I'll try to explain step by step:

1. UFS-3 has 4 leds and when it is CONNECTED only the first at right side is turned-on (RED)
2. I work on first phone (whatever you want) and every thing is ok.
3. during the flash all leds blink
4. when finish I disconnect the phone from UFS cable.
5. when the fhash is finished the first left led still is yellow: this produce that when I connect another phone the UFS send Volt and phone show the message like when it is in charge (see picture)
6. I need to click on DISCONNECT UFS and click again to CONNECT UFS

it si not real "bug" but it is possible to avoid each time to make 2 click? it is happen on other member or only to me?
(I hope now is more clear)

I had the same problem/messages the first time I use COM+USB cable.... you have just to reduce the speed at lowest velocity (115200) and all work properly. (don't worry: the low speed is only in the COM phase; when the software swicth on USB it is speedest than UFS-BOX.
THESE are my time:
UFS3-BOX = ~900 sec.
COM+USB = ~490 sec.

I unlocked one phone today whith the new version, and all OK.
But i have one phone dead, was 2 days i have want unlock, but today, this setool, ask me in this mode:

i go to the 20 recovery, i insert the four of the five file for return my 8380 to the original version, for unlock, but the FLASH, not possible, i tested of alls, but this phone is DEAD, today whith this answere the new version, ( i runned whith alls 3 version i have installated in my pc), "PHONE INVIBLE"(00000000)", NOT LOADER, and others, i to do very very very ......!!!!!, please give me the solution, because if not repair this phone, the client, ask me the new phone, and i not have this money.
How do for resolve this problem???
this problem , the phone dead, was 2 last days, when out the update for 8380, i charge two file of 8380 eu patch, and this phone not power forever, and i combact from 2 days and night, for resolver this problem, but nothing.

There is no problem for you.
However, it is a big problem to Japanese phone user.
Because, the phone currently sold in Japan is guarded by various functions.
It is not helpful only by the file of a support zone.

sorry, we were talking bout lg . no offend. but i agree that sharp still have some bugs.

i making that post to prevent question about "fast lg8380 unlock" done by my best friend zuliko.

his method i wanted to use first, but it was very insecure so it was decided to put patched flash.

now, i will build database of most common firmwares 8380/8360/8330 and will learn my users (advanced, sorry, beginners) to make readouts so i can create patches very fast.

expect new version with some version of lg3g "fast unlock" tomorrow, near evening

question: why MobilelandGSM speak about 8180 but in the original post of Mr. laser there isn't?

I take the occasion to ask also: on 8380 I had 99% good result but 1: on this one I can use bluetooth to send but not to receive, someone know why?

I used last flash-version available on support site. after this report I try to unlock these 2 x 8130(R) using the original version for LG (R) (not card version but UFS version) and after click unlock the phone doesn't need magic number.....it is unlocked simply pressing "unlock"... it is a news in the last flash file? (I used ony drive_c)

My tests on SE Tool v0.9137292
8180@8138(unlocked) => to 8180_v11a => to 8180_v11f whit only: "drive_c_cid41_r.ssw" and "U8180_phone_wcdma_4mbram_41r.ssw" no problem found, all works good. No network problems.

8380 => only whit 8380_main.ssw, no problems found.

I have done some others test's and i haven't found any problems.

No problems whit minimize, restore and auto-close. All work good!

Have tried on 8110 & 8120: SE Tool write "DONE" but phone stay Locked!
8130R flashed whit drive_c and do Unlock(like always), but phone stay unlocked!

i've just tested last dist.rar (xxx7294) on 2 x 8130 comebacked from customer today because they are "USIM BLOCCATA" in spite of yesterday I tested before give him ( as usually ) with my SIM.

I suppose that last version repair the problem but read with care what happen:

1. flash drive_c (I tried also to jump directly to step 2)
2. press unlock/repair
3. insert SIM not H3G (e.g. WIND)
4. the phone is unlocked
5. change SIM (e.g. VODAFONE or any other)
6. USIM BLOCCATA

so, it seems is unlocked only with first SIM you use.

I had to use old SeTool2 (v. 8977008 that fortunately I had on my old laptop) to solve as in the past.

Mr. Laser, could you check (when the party is finished of course) again your wonderfull software?

yes, of course. I know very well the behavior of these models. (8120)
in addition I can say that I can't reproduce this problem on another 8120 and also using setool2 (as on 8130 see 2 post before) I had the same problem, so now I'm complete reflashing this piece.

on 8110 I wrote that all is OK! works properly, means works good :)

Yes, I have same problem, I tried to unlock LG 8130R, first step downgrade to V101, second step insert unlock code 00000666. Result: the phone write "wrong code".

yes, you repeat exactly my steps.
this is what happen: the phone result unlocked only with the first sim you use inside. as soon as you change with another one ( same operator or others ) the phone result locked again.

I can add that at the first turn-on after flsh/unlock the phone is already unlocked without enter 00000666. it is needed only when you change the sim, but, at that time any number you could use is wrong....

have you different experience? the strange is that up to now I have the same problem on 4 x 8130 (R).

mumble-mumble... i'm enough tired and my memory has some hole, but can assure that in total yesterday I made 13 x 8180 and 10 was still in virgin box with cellophane and 3 was from customer but never unlocked.

i start to check the version after th 5th piece so the 4 before was checked after problem but I supposed that the "unlok/repair" button didn't flash the mobile but only calculate the unlock solution without modify the version... isn't it?

unfortunately I did't try to turn on the mobile after "pattern 4 not found" ... sorry :(

anyway I can say that after that 2 pieces I never had more problem with 8180.

I have tried the downgrade with old method, therefore with gdfs and format, then I repeat with file pacht, but it doesn't turn on, it flashes then for an instant the display he extinguishes, tried test-poit with various versions of firmware. The telephone is as died.
Does thing recommend me the magician of the world of unlock?

first, to revive your phone you need now to unlock it with testpoint.

second, i need to know, what was original firmware versions in that phones and was any error messages during flash-patching.

i think again about some non-original firmware...
because in any case,if flashpatchs is wrong, you can always flash original firmware and phone MUST turn on and MUST flash ok.
if not - there was some error in procedures - incorrect firmware,etc.

Ok... Suppose I have to flash a K500i and K700i same time. I execute setool and on the first window I choose the flash files for K500i and in the customize file, I choose the appropriate CDA, Model etc..for the K500i.

I am opening an extra window of SETool and choose the files for K700i. Now, what shall I do with "Complete phone"? There is only one customize file and I edited it for K500i. In such situations I can flash both phones at the same time but customization can be done only one after another. That means after I flash and complete K500i, I have to edit the customize file for the K700i and complete phone. If there are more phones, it is more difficult to edit the customizing file.

I hope that you understand what I mean.

Hi Mr Laser i did the same experiment with Lg 8138 and the window came out i left the same imei ( i don't need to change it ) and has been write down , anyway i changed my hold 8138 sw to 8180 v11a and now the phone is a 8180 v11a unlocked with 8138 "covers" , exellent :) all function of 8180 mp3 , full screan pics , ect .
Please let me know way don't work with 8180 :)

Tried to just 'test out' the new IMEI change feature in SETool on 903SH(jp).

Did what the instructions said, but IMEI still stays the same. No change at all.

I flashed the whole phone then unlock.
I choose [902SH] on the tab.



Anybody be able to change IMEI on 903SH succsesfully?

With the version beta I have found a problem of closing of SETool, only when she is not working, opening and closing windows.
If it is in execution a work on LG everything ok it goes.
My system is equipped with VIA C3 processor.
This problem doesn't happen with the preceding versions.

No problems found, whit al my test :)
the_laser, you know my test ;) (resize, send to try, open 10 subsession, open many program in background,...) and it doesn't happend to me :D

VIA C3 is a good platform because it unites small dimensions and power to the least one, it is equivalent to a pentium 3 to 1000 MHz. The women say that the dimensions count, but only in bed! :D
SEtool has done for a long time his own duty, without ever giving signals of crash, also with small utensils! :D
When a beta version works on my VIA C3, then it is definitive version!

3: A "Never show this again"-option when it comes to the Motlab-ad.

By the way, "Powerful" is spelled with one "l". Take a look at the forums header-image.

I tried in Japanese version 903SH.
1.flash readout w/patch IMEI check.
2.flash "testmode" readout.
3.unlock/repair w/change IMEI.(I choose "903SH" on the tab.)

that's all.
