I've try to change imei on LG 8120 but when I flash the firmware, setool don't show the message: IMEI check patched.
I do unlock repair, i've write new emal, but now the phone don't power on.

P.s. I have select: patch imei check, and allow to change imei, but nothing :(

If I insert the fifteen number of imei on z1010, why the final number it's not changed??
Example: if I insert 123456789123456 and I click to change imei, the imei after this operation is: 123456789123452 (with number 2 final, not number 6 who I want).

In the change imei screen of Setool, appears only 14 number of imei, not 15.

Try to open SST 5.31 (cracked) when using setool.

LG8120 IMEI "correction" O.K change doesn't work. If I flash U8130---- into the phone, then the flash file gets patched (dead phone though obviously). Flash U8120--- back to the phone, and the flash file does not get patched so any attempt to change the IMEI results in a dead phone.

Ok great I was able to change IMEI.
I think my problem was that I choose Patch IMEI box and Allow ta change IMEI box at the same time.
I needed to choose one at I time and then it worked.

But I noticed that I can only change it to certain numbers that are for the JP ver.
I tried to change it to 35472100701**** that is for UK then it boots up but goes white then turn off.

Please the_laser, when you have enough time, add "Relock" like "Direct Unlock" feture on 8180/8330/8360/8380.

I saw 903sh with this OTP IMEI: 04857555048575, we can flash any FW (UK, JP,CN) to it.

1. LAtest version is not available when trying to download latest card version, the only thing Im able to download, both from "support area" and "Downloads" is v0.9137292.
At least its what it reads in GUI window. then, when copying that line into a text doc (that reads "GUI v0.9137292/UNI" in the GUI) it writes "0.9137295" in the text doc.

2. It cant flash the same file onto 2 phones at the same time.
Have to duplicate file in other directory to do so..

3. we are not going to change the IMEI in order to unlock 903SH. (cause then SET will get illegal in Japan). We are also looking forward to the day the "real" solution is broken.

i dont think it is based on the number of ports the computer supports since i could change a cable's port # to com256..

i'm trying to use 3 *** 4in1 cable and are using SphereGSM Fighter cable drivers. they get recognized on port 12, 17, and 18.

If it is selectable in the list then you could also add this kind of information to the output window to make it easier for people.. Just like info about what to enter into lg phones to unlock them after preparing them with setool..

suppose, i using some program, which uses com-ports.
and in that time i launch setool (with autodetect).
what happens ? right, that com-port will NOT be detected.

so i decided to limit com-port number to 16 .
it is VERY easy to modify com-port number if it is above 16
(device manager->com ports->COMx->settings->advanced)

i googled a little more and solved my case by removing unused devices in the system.

here are the steps:
1.open up command window by running cmd.exe from "start->run"
2.enter following commands:
set DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1
Devmgmt.msc
3.view->show hidden devices
4.removed unused devices

Is there a spesific reason why it's embedded? It would be simpler if we didn't need to do that on every phone we flashed. At least the embedded customize.xml should be completely generic, without any operator settings. Now it installs a bunch of internet profiles for operators in an other country (russia?), every time we flash a phone... :(

If theres a spesific reason why it's embedded, and you don't want to redo that, could you maybe add a feature to "auto-run script after flash"?

I've downloaded the 96 version and i 've seen the two new options ("patch imei setting when flashing" and "allow change IMEI, when unlocking")...
So now is it possible to remove the sim-lock of the phone (for example lg 8380) and use a sim-card of the same brand operator (because i can now modify the imei of the phone)?

About the Setool 0,9137296, Why did you add the CDA Variable writing in this version. That is not so goot, because I tried 2 pcs Z1010 and gives me "can't write CDA variable".

That CDA procedure result that phone blink (only tried on Z1010).

I have tried on different speed.

I opened the old version of the Setool (without the CDA) , and I make same procedure, and the phone work perfect.

I think if you remove this option, and let the soft do it automatically as before, I think it will better.

sometime ago, one man do nice "cda tool".. it generates script for cda fields...

and that is beta thread and questions must be asked and bugs must be discussed, cause that is target of that thread.

...I great...I'm trying last version of Setool(the beta) on a old lgu8110....just to try...I made full flash to version 110,then unlock with new feature "Allow to change Imei when unlocking" and I put the same Imei number(just change last number to see).....I had no problem according to Setool,but the screen is always black on phone and doesn't start....I had to flash back gdfs in order to make it works......I don't need this feature,just to inform you about the thing....in case you want to check something don't esitate...bye

Strange. Complete was checked. I always check it when flashing. And I flashed it 7 times with different K700 Flashes, with the same results. Today I will try wit an older version, to see if it is not a bug.

first log is from 913728. The phone was virgin (lg8330), and after unlock with 913728 and that error message is not unlocked.
After, i have used 913726 with this phone and now work and is fully unlocked.

The first log is from 913726 but another phone (lg8180). Now is ok. The problem is with 913728. With five phone appears the same error message.

Tried to unlock the LG u8120 with v0.9137298, all work fine, after enter the unlocking key which is 00000666. Turn off the phone, and when it turned itself back on, blank white screen. Phone still responding as when I press the keypad I can hear it, but just could get anything on the screen. Tried to recover and reflash it, same thing.

Downloaded the HK firmware and reflash it with v0.9137299, same thing, phone turns on but blank display. And then I did a recovery, reflash the GDFS and all 4 files. Phone turns on, blank screen. Turned the fone off, put a vodafone sim card in, call out fine, just dont get any thing on the screen. Tried to recharge the batter, phone turns on by itself. Now what can I do?

Is there any EROM for LG fones?

Hi, Everythings goin' good here 2 but

1. Can the "detection" of the phone (Sharp) be made easier, it would save me a lot of messy battery and power on button hassle if the phone was as "self-detectable" as the SE phones.

About CID49 TP I think there are some problems,
some times, phone damaged, sometimes problems,
I think the phone suffer a bit after TP.

About CID54 TP I tried all the night TP on one side,
lucky phone not damaged, but no unlock, so today
I will try on the other side, same side of battery,
but I have so to do two little cables to coonnect battery.

Lucky 8550 testpoint is not hard to find, but when you do unlock repair (8380 selected) , setool dont do direct unlock but classic unlock repair. so the laser improve in your program a button direct unlock :( please.... :p

Just wanted to say that yesterday I have tested the latest public beta and it works fine even on a AMD K6 450MHz laptop. Code has been really improved.

it always do this procedure !!!! it doesn't depend on which model you select!!

lucky if in an 8380 you put a different gdfs, you must make unlock repair because the phone don't power on. So classic unlockrepair when you do testpoint is not a bug.

About 8550 can't understand 2g 3g problem?!?

Example in Italy all Vodafone Sim 64k 128k
are 3g and they can do without problem 3g services...
Example2 in Italy all TIM cards above 32k are
3g just call callcenter and activate 3g services UMTS...

So what's the problem with 2g or 3g ? can't understand? :D

I know there must be same great differences between those two types, but i have an old SIM card (6/7 years old) and it works with SE 3G phones perfectly (video calls, etc...)

So, why a new SIM type if old SIMs work? :S

Because operator 3 ("Three") only works with UMTS and USIM cards, and most LG 3G phones are made especially for them. So if they ask LG to remove support for older SIM cards in order to limit the unlocking of their phones, LG will do so.

Before we only had normal sim-cards - that was not prepared for 3G.
However, these cards also work partly with UMTS.
Most operators will give you a normal old 2G card (at least before).
These cards are not supported in 8550

To take full advantage of all UMTS features, the sim cards need to be different, which is why a new type of SIM (USIM) is created. These cards are fully prepared for UMTS, but also works fine on 2G.
These cards WORKS in 8550.

If you have an old card, you can try asking your operator if they have new USIM cards.

It's not so damn hard to understand...

I have tested direct unlock un 8130R (choosing 8330), 8180,8330,8380.
All without problem.
I have also tested imei changing on old series (8120 and 8130) and everything seems working perfect.

Phone is new (Vodafone).
Unlockig procedure not give error, usual log. But after disconect phone from cable and try power up, phone blink.
This is first time for me, blink after unlock.

What to do. Flash ? What? GDFS?

Happened a couple of times now (done a fair few s/e's though, so i'm not complaining).
Flashing it (main and fs. NO need for GDFS) with complete set works 100%. This also works for the phones "unlocked" by various clips from the market.

I am so much grateful laser nd unlocker for helping me out for the new version download and access for the support area .i can now donload my flash files.But one more problem is to unlock k608i giving try recovery after tryiung bto unlock.

pls laser can you show me how to do the k608i test point.pls i need 100% solution on k608i.plss :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

Setool can't do anything about it. Setool doesn't backup files (and i think it won't ever...)
Just warn customers to backup their things first, just in case something goes wrong.

Thank you for the advice. I used to be a programmer myself, but these days I rely completely on paid for software. It is you who have to supply me with powerful tools. I cannot learn how to use commands, and waste time on a single phone, and then ask peanuts for it. It is not that I am not able to, just cannot be bothered. :) If Cr_uiser does it, I will use that. If Setool, I will use that. if USB Smart, I will use that. If Furious, that. If MTBox, I will buy that too. I am a pro, not a kid. You give me a good product, I buy. You make money, I make money, we are both happy.

In too many cases this business is on a need-know-in-order-to-know basis.
A "idiot-safe" soft sure would be a homerun-ware.

8330 flash v20b WMM is not supported by SETOOL...last version...hope will fix this into new update...i solve problem with downgrade to austria v20a...also some new versions of 8180 after unlock "sim geshpert" also...wait for new update ...regards...motorepair is genius idea...nice move...

that option allows you to use lg3g flashpatch in testmode .
was made by request, and will help in u8550 flashpatch (it is not work in present version)

will post you log...but simple way for you is:reflash phone with this version and will see by yourself...you can turn it back safe to unlockable version without problem after that...
P.S.
I use to repair phones unlocked by old method with patched flashes 8130/8138 blocked/no power/camera problem with upgrade to highest version into support area ...so for 8330 i found that untill flash Austria v20a i can upgrade without unlock problems... :D

How about making SETOOL read codes? Such as NCK and so on?

How about making SETOOL manually set up the main and FS file if you select "model" and after that press "Flash"?

Just make the program search after "main" and "fs" in the filename and make the standard searchway "c:\setool\fw\**'main.cry" and the same about FS?

If any problem gets in the way make the program do a "erom" (and make the program select the correct EROM for the selected phone) and after that "complete" - I mean, if you do a flash you always (normally) mark the box "Complete Phone".

Make a better (easier to understand if you´re a beginner) manual for al the users that don´t know as much as The_Laser does and everybody else does.

Make a "Relock" button. Also being alble to lock it to any network. Ofcourse, you have to know the "code" for it... Like Sweden Vodafone is 24008 and so on.. Or make the program know the code.

Make readouts and put all the org. FW for all models on Support (like Vodafone Live!, Comviq Go live! and so on..) so that you can restore a customers phone back to the org if he/she likes to?

THIS IS JUST SOME WONDERINGS.. NOT REQUEST...

Buy Cr_uiser, much easier than setool and lots of functions to save you time. Today I replaced certificates in a CID 49 RED k608i converted to brown CID 36 k600i, by just pressing a single button. No funny EROMs, no fiddling with settings. Much easier and effective. Even error messages are clearer. I spent several hours trying with setool and, in the end, Cr_uiser immediately told me I needed to replace broken certificates. With setool, you either know it or you are lost. Powerful but quite unfriendly tool is this setool.

you can't replace certificate in cru_iser with single button. you must make at least 6 actions.

with setool2, to change certificate, you are required to do
1. select certificate
2. press clear names (if they NOT empty)
3. press flash

and i can assure you, setool2 will NEVER be one-button software.

about friendly error messages... well, i really not know, how make error messages MORE friendly and more understandable than in setool2.

Could you make SEtool read lock info when unlocking? Like what locks are closed, and MNC+MCC of the operator who locked the phone?

I don't remember very well, but I think it has something to do with problems with CID. If you add a string to setool that tells not only the error but also what to do to solve it, it would be VERY nice ;) i.e. on errors that happen due to bad cables or wrong connection you could add a sentence that invites user to check cable or PC, like you do when it says "take battery off and then put it back on" ;)

I flashad un Z1010, whit the (in this moment not remeber which version), SETOOL, i now i have one phone Z1010, "NEW", this phone is not simple of buy.
Excuse for this i writh up and perdon for my BAD ENGLISH.
My problem is , this phone now not work.
If i flash whith the guide read in this forum,
1) RECOVERY
2)FLASH EROM
3) FLASH MAIN and FS
4) COMPLETE PHONE.
OK, i have do alls these flash, READ GDFS, WRITE GDFS, FLASHAD in the 100 mode and whith alls version, but this phone was dannegated of SETOOL, now i flashad other .
The problem first is NO SIGNAL AFTER THE BRAND.
This phone was perfect FIRST of FLASH, but now is corrupted the GDFS, because, the program answere to me, "GDFS DANNEGATED OR PHONE UNKNOW", or "PLEASE CONTACT THE OPERATOR FOR SERVICE".
Please do you help to me to repair this phone?, i payed this phone 200 euro, and i want repair this, but HOW I DO?, if i do 100 FLASHAD?

that is strange, but fighter cables (and all ftdi-based ) very depends of driver version and latency settings. i sugges to use latest drivers from ftdi website and then play with latency.

thanks laser, i am trying to unlock that phone for almost an hour, i even tried using v.91373 but no luck.i am sure cable is working because i am using that in other models of se phone. will try to download latest drivers and check again when there is another phone to unlock.
