may i know what CID phone you flashing?

well, i was unable to reproduce both problems.

for blickbox looks like there was no any was flashes selected

No - flashes were selected. I just clicked "Connect UFS" and "Flash", and it worked. So it was same window with same settings.

I also tried disable USB, but then i got an error about USB disabled i think :rolleyes:

But anyway, i only tested one phone so it was probably just coincidence. I flashed a K300 today with no problem.

At me has not earned never, hangs in different places, speed is reduced at reading on direct USB, the old version of version 09137299 works without problems. Computer Intel pentium 4-3.2

pls post your flashing logs along... we cant reproduce without any identity and flashing logs of your phone. :)

I'm still wondering the latest setool V.093180015 can flash the 06W03 onwards W550 without using testpoint(on touch phones)?? if yes, can u state it down here how to do ?

db2010 phones (w550 and so on) can be done without tp in ~60% cases.
you must try.
yet i can't figure why it sometimes work or sometimes not. working on it.

It's maybe time to make the setool window bigger. I mean the inner window of the soft.

For me Gui ....015 not works with Cruiser Cable for W800, doesn't boot at all I took older version and process begin imiediatly

Strange, the last version (16) gives me a headache.
I debranded a K750 (first GDFS, unlock, flash) then the phone has signal problems.
Sometimes it gives me full signal but no calls, some other times very low signal with calls.
I'll try to do it with an older version and post results.

The phone is almost new with no HW problems

I also noticed that the latest firmware for K750 (R1B) EMEA3 does not contain Greek language, only english. I tryed master reset after flash whithout result and i also tryed it on 3-4 different phones whithout result

Well, the phones have good signal now, i used the attached GDFS from support or from the soft and i had signal problems.
Then i used the GDFS from babyk ( [Only Registered Users Can See Links] ) and the phones work perfectly now.

But the language problem (on R1BC002 ) still remains, there is no way i can have Greek lang on it, only English (tryed all methods with master reset etc)

w550 doesnt complete on v0.91380016 but on v0.91380013 it does it prefectly

the_laser: The "profile" feature is great. But is it possible to make SEtool save COM-port when saving a profile?

I have own cable for t68/k750/etc, so when i load K750 profile, it would be nice if it also selected the com-port with k750 cable.

Setool shutdowns when pointing with marker on taskmanager arrow (little menu in bottom left when minimizing the prog) in XP. had 2 903SH flashing during with testpoint.
At Several other times SETool have "Vanished" and shut down by itself. maybe more common when doing much multitask.


903SH Testpoint wont work occationally. Result sometimes : please to try recovery sometimes FLID. Shutting down and restart SET helps. Have of course done with different cables, checked battery etc.

Otherwise, It seems rather OK!

i know use cid36 can do, but i think use cid49 best.

i doesnt matter which certificate u use, try to check maybe your file is missing in frec, newer certificate doesnt means will effect your phone faster.
just a protection of semc platform to make third party unlocker like us headache. :)

a little bug while flashing k700
it was a k700 r2ay firmware version and flashed to r2ca ver but when making identify on phone i get r2ay firmware version even when i see inside the phone r2ca version

I really love the Profiles SETool has since a while. But there is one problem. When you save setting for W800/K750/D750/Z520 for example, only settings for one phone can be saved. Maybe you could make the dropdownbox to show every model standalone, so we can save according files and settings for every model, not just for every modelgroup.

Yes... annoying that i can't have one for W800, and one for K750. Also annoying that i can't save COM-port selection in a profile.

Another suggestion - maybe add UFS as a selection together with COM-ports? (like in usb-smart), so when selected, automaticly connects UFS.

flash also MAIN firmware part...setool did not find rest. file - so main flash part is not restored - and so gdfs acess cannot be made....

Nooo. Absolutely not. If you have messed up your K750 CID49 EROM, then your phone is dead. For now.

I use div for the older phones thats one bit of soft i have kept for years. I have a few other progs for doing the old se but i see lot of new ones.

Our SET ver.....18 is killing itself randomly (during flash operation (903SH).
Using a brand new 2,1Ghz, 512Mb (XP) only using SETOOL on the whole computer.
No virus, No other soft installed whatsoever.
Uses half of the memory, 70-100% of the CPU.

What to do.

I always backup GDFS and keep my log files. As the versions are changing often, I have many log files and GDFS backups spread everywhere. Isn't it possible to have a singe Logfile for regardless the version? I mean every log saves in a single logfile which is situated where the user want it to be. This avoids creating many log files and avoid cut and paste of logs(to have them in a singe file). Same with GDFS, it could be easier to save GDFS in a separate 'user defined' folder while doing backup.

Get a powered hub. I use an Athlon 64 desktop, and a P4 laptop. Desktop never failed at all, Laptop complete crap with SETool, Infinity, Thunderstorm.
Tried a USB2 powered hub (pcmcia) and it has never crashed since.
The fault with SETool was the same as yours. Never let a phone finish flashing, and would crash anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes in.

What do you mean by UFS "dummy battery" cable? can we flash and unlock semc phones without battery's in the phones?

dummy battery is crocodile clip with +4.2 v (well, must be so ;) ) found on some usb cables. it was a possibility of unfinished flashing,which CAN cause phone to damage certificate. well, it is not much intresting. main thing - it is fixed. ;)

I flashed this phone without any problem with the latest version. XXX20. BUT, the phone was hanging on the boot. I flashed few times with different FW versions but didn't help. So, I flashed with XXX19 and everything is OK with the phone. Is it any kind of bug?

OK.. Now it works fine. I used this file with Ver. XXX19 but it showed CSloader error (Error 29) while I tried to add 3G/GSm option. With V.XXX20, I could insert this option. I wanted to flash the phone with V.XXX20 one more time to see if the phone hangs when it boot for the first time after flashing. I got error while completing (Common- CS loader error 29) but when I tried one more time only for completing the phone without Main and FS, it worked fine. Now I have Fully working K600 without XE0W and with 3G/GSM option. Thanks the_laser!!!

1. you selected OLD method (i will remove it in next release ), which change phone to BROWN49

2. after change color to brown49, you trying to write inside it RED49 flashes. you must get error and you getting it.

so what to do ? simple.

1. IF you write erom (that is only possible with tp or with old hw revisions), then change color to RED49
2. use NEW method, which NOT changes CID.

understand your process, "crippled loader"/etc not meant for brown 49, must convery to red 49 (like flashing NON touched phone) to latest firmware and utalize rest files to init

basically flashing W550 to latest firmwares (not patched) make sure phone is red49 (if not just flash w/ erom to revert back to red49)

to be more precise.... NEW w550 can't be converted to brown or etc. without tp.
so no need to think about it ;)

Thanks for the update. Just one doubt, is there only one file to flash a Z300i? I mean, nothing like main and FS?

maybe it's just a readout

because z300 is NOT common semc phone. in fact, it is not SEMC at all.
so it have not "normal" fs, gdfs, etc.

Is there anyway of setting the software that everytime the sw is closed and then re-opened then all the files are cleared from the sw and all the ticks on the Settings tab is cleared. This is because we sometimes forget to clear the ticks in the settings and press unlock and then it messes the phone up :(

the_laser: I found a "bug/weakness" in SETool on CID49

When it says reinsert battery and press testpoint ok, if you press testpoint ok FIRST - then reinsert battery, you are lost.

Of course it won't work, but the problem is that it won't work if you start the prosess again. SEtool will always think that you have reinserted battery and clicked OK, so it skips the "delay" when it asks you to reinsert battery and click testpoint ok. It skips that and start powering phone immidiatly, as if you already had done it.

Long story short: If you don't do correct instructions when clicking "Testpoint OK" - you won't get a new chance later.

I had to fix the phone using another tool, before SEtool would work correctly again, and let me reinsert battery and click "testpoint ok" button.

Yes that was the problem... And it happened everytime, even when i disconnected, reinserted battery, and clicked unlock again. :)

Btw: Is it really necessary to reinsert battery and "fake testpoint" by clicking "Testpoint OK", in order to unlock a CID49?
I have a feeling that it's just a "temporary solution" - that is possible to change so that it does it automaticly without need for reinsert battery/clicking buttons.

No big deal, i just have a feeling that its just a temporary solution :p

I use Setool 95% unlocking and only 5% flashing and i have never touched that value and never had any problem related to it ?

In what situations do i need to change CDA ? Tried to search for CDA but that is not possible, that is why i ask ...

cda is a number that define the phone region, that mean language pack, but for me, i saw it's effect onely if we want upgrade phones with seus.
u post a good question, me two i wanna know if we have to write the cda or not when flashing, what is the problem if we change it or if we write 0000000000.

it will be wondefull like in nokia if you select product code,the flash have all operator and changue the config to operator needed.well i think its a dream yet.

then i need too what usefull are that cda option? if make a changue or not in phone

i need your help, folks. i was out of business for 2 mouth. now i download 0.91380029 but the gui changed. i identify my phone, but where to put the flashfiles??

'firmware files': i press add and select the main or the fs file but nothing happen, box is still empty

'firmware upgrade pack': i think its for the .sfa files

'misc files': i think it is only for scriptfiles

'restore files': is for new cid49

where i have to select the flashfiles??

also, i got protection card error but setool closes himself to fast so i cant say anything about error code.

edit: problem with adding files fixed, winrar encrypted files not properly.
'infernel' (;)) error "...01f" is still there. i tryed 018 version i found.

error 1f is card communication error. check your dongle/clean card/reinstall drivers/etc.

Regarding the dongle error..

I have had random shutdowns in the middle of unlocking a phone, program shut down and gave "Card protect error" and as i understood it this "error" was fixed in newest version of setool..

This has until now been true, have not seen it at all but i have seen the other error..

I always thought that the error was related to me using a USB hub that has both pinky cable and setool dongle and the transfer rate from the usb hub was not good enough to avoid this always..

Maybe i was wrong ?

This problem is persistent since early versions.
I attach 2 pictures to demonstrate the problem. The problem is at 1280 x 1024 resolution. (With 1024x765 all is ok). It is not urgent but setool with my desktop looks chaotic. If you have time please solve this flaw.

Thx for 31 version - less trafic to download cid254 flashes. Now it's really convenient to flash any files to any cid phones and vice versa!

the_laser: Can you please make Port-number and CDA a part of the "Profiles"? So that port selection and CDA is saved together with the rest? That would make the profiles system perfect!

It would be really great if SETool could read the CDA number from the selected customization package.

BUG: "Revert to RED" does not work correctly. At least not on a K700 OTP CID29, Flash CID36. It's simply not converted back to red after it's done.

Edit: Hmm.. I think this bug occurs if "Settings" tab is active when you click "Unlock". When i switched to "SonyEricsson" tab, it converted to red again. (then i switched to Settings again, and it did not convert)

BlickBox: That would become impractical as soon as more than one file needs to be updated. Laser could forget one file, for instance. New versions could also require new configuration keys, causing the old config file to be obsolete and "broken".

yccomc: You can edit the custpacks all you like, but ringtones, themes and wallpapers don't go the same place as "the other" custpack-files (/tpa/preset/custom). Play around with the "listdirs" command.

no, currently only DCU-60 (usb cable in K800 box)

k800 flashing supported on all communication devices.
but i noticed, that k800 not like most 4in1 cable - many errors occured with it.
better and more faster use dcu60.

well, MY serial 4in1 cable works for me ok, ufs works ok too for my betatester (flashed about 80 k800 during tests), so why not try ? credits only taken when complete (and of course when reading/writing gdfs/script) - so it is safe for your money ;)

one suggestion for rest file packages instead of embeding them on main distribution
package it would be possible to add last update date and hour so if any change is made the last date of the package could be changed

Just 1 suggestion :
Unlock button sould be disabled when DB2020 phone is selected ( until it can be done ) since a lot of people is trying to unlock and than saying that Setool is not working and bla bla etc.
It's for sure that many of them don't read forum and even they do then they don't pay attention .

after K790 flashing i get no network.
then read GDFS from other K790 and wright it to phone without network/
now phone doesnt power on, and i got damaged package,
what can i do now?

laser can u add use card option like if user has emma card and can use setool for flashing db2020,withot server ,like in universal box ???that will be a great support.
