now we have free CID 52 patch, would it not be a good idea, to have an upgrade CID button (or settings option)?

This would allow us to automatically upgrade the CID before flashing then unlock/flashing.

A box in the setting tab would be an idea , or a dedicated button, because it is clear that if we have CID 51, then we will want to upgrade to 52 then unlock for free.


I know you can use scripts, but this takes that bit longer and you have to turn phone on and off.

I mean, on DB2020 CID49 it appears to do that automaticly, so it's probably possible to add support for that on DB2010 also (of course, only when DCU-60 is used)? Or at least add "autosearch" like on new DB2020 patch, so it's not necessary to press the button.

A2 unlocking comes in setool, and it'll be great to implement such e-mail notification system like in DaVinci, which notifies about succesfull or not signature calculations. Some work to do, but will be really nice.

add T250 is good idea, many people waiting for that solution....patchunlock is already done, so it can`t be so hard for the_laser ;) If patch unlock possible then better via server for one log ?? What do you mean??

wrong.....solution is well known (unlock via patch) but it`s not implemented in Rocker. Legija sell this solution for 5000 Euro.

Some suggestions for improvements:

1. Add "pling" sound when battery needs to be reinserted while unlocking/flashing CID49. "%WINDIR%\Media\ding.wav" is a good sound for this. This one could also be used in DB2020 patch process - the one currently used is very generic so it's not always obvious that it's from setool. Or you can play it three times like in last build(?)

2. Save "Settings" in phone profiles. AFAIK, the settings are not saved together with phone profiles. It could be useful to have these stored with each individual profile - e.g. i could make one profile for only flashing (only "user server" checked"), and one for flash+unlock (unlock after flash, use server + alt bypass checked).

3. Option to warn before using credits: E.g "Credit will be deducted - continue? [Yes] [No]
The reason i want this is because it's very easy to make a mistake - especially for newbies. E.g: I want to flash a DB2020 but forget to uncheck "alt bypass" = credit wasted. Or write script with alt bypass checked = wasted. Since DB2020 unlock requires alt bypass checked, but does not use credit, it can be a little confusing, and not always easy to remember to uncheck it before doing other operations. Previous suggestion (settings stored in profile) would make that a little easier though...
Alternatively you should output "Credit deducted!" in output window to indicate when a credit is used. Or even better: output credits left before and after operation like universalbox e.g.

Sometimes program exits if flashfiles you select are located in the desktop! Move files to my documents or any other place but don't use files for flashing directly from desktop.

How do you get the beta version? I don't see any link on the forum pages. I'm assuming the beta version is called "SEtool2". I downloaded v1.1 from another site, is that current? Is there any documentation so I can use it. It looks a lot different to SEtools.

Is it possible to bundle the settings inside phones tabs, not to make a separate tab with the settings? I think it would be mouch easier to use this soft, with settings in separate window the newbies(like me) forget about check or uncheck some option.

Also a smaller inerface would be nice, but I ask this just because my laptop have 800/600 pixels screen size so you can ignore this, maybe is not good for everybody .

found bug with multi flashing.
Before I could flash 2 or more phones using different usb port (open new window feature) and it would automatically go
window 1 - usb 1 , window 2 - usb 2 etc etc.

but now in v026 if i try to multiflash all usb port open on usb#1 which mean they interfere with each other.

So now can only flash 1 phone at a time. :eek::eek:

a little bug on 27 version on patch unlock of db2020 in the middle of the bypass process phones get disconnected and need to be connected again

problem flashing m600 on 027 version...but in 026 no problem..please laser fix this bug..

its usb connectivity somehow it is not detecting SE phones cause in bypass unlock after step3 phone restarts but soft cannot detect it again i have to manually disconnect and reconnect same after bypass fist stage after pressing ready i need to reconnect the phone twice

i had the same problem yesterday leaving something to the last minute only come to find 027 does not pick up the smart phone, after wasting an hour i gave up! tried fixed drivers infinite times! today thought go back a version i just went back to 020 and flashed it ! and all was fine.. so realised definitely a bug.. and came to post to let laser and community know and seen people are already having this problem.

i am sure it is been fixed. and await new release...

Its seems everytime the_laser releases another great update, some users simply cannot understand simple instructions such as update from v20 to v28

NEW UPDATE VERSION OF SETOOL v0.914028

Step 1

Download v0.914020 from support site
Move you setool.ini file to a safe place (another directory)
and extract v0.914020 to your Setool Directory

Step 2

Download new update v0.914028 from support site or here

Step 3

Run update v0.914028
Choose the directory name where Setool is installed.

Installer will update setool files with new version.

Step 4

Copy back your setool.ini (this is where your passwords are stored) to your Setool directory.

We have a suggestion for easy use of setool which every operation
you did and it depend what you want to Do in Repair..

First for Special addons TAB to easy click in repairing CID and Force to convert (CID49/51 to 52 in DB2020)it means TAB for CID tools

Second is in every operation we didn't need having files for uploading or flashing operations..Just click and click operation TAB tools..

I know it is very complicated and impossible suggestion,but i guess it is good for all setool user's...

havent tried v028 yet will dl tomorrw but for v027 multiflashing working good now but seems to be limited to 2 phones at a time ? Tried 3 ports on computer and also usb hub but crashed each time more than 2.

Instead of having all flash files on our hard drive,
Could it be doable to host flash files on lan or another distant computer or even on a server ?

So it could be doable to put ftp adress into buffer or even let setool download it gradually prior to flash it ?

I asked a while ago, if you could incorporate making rest files 'on the fly' when either using identify button, or if the program could build and then load the file into phone during/after unlock or flash procedures! I was just wondering if you would still consider this feature being added?!

This is handy for some files that just arent around, and would reduce then eed for me to d/load tons of rest files and use up my daily limit twice over 2 days!

but take a look at kruizer, univerzalbox, dre4mb0x, SEDBx...etc... their directory structures are organized very well. Its not about how to use it, its about comfortable....user friendly, less click, and time save.
Yes, i have not much time just to find out where is my desired files.

But the_laser also made a nice thing for freebies, right?
(those desperate2lite - damn i hate it)

And about the boot that identify flash structure, it will help user to find out the substitude chip for it, if its damaged and need replacement.

hyperterminal exists on every windows installation. if user can't read and can't use hyperterminal, user selected wrong product.

Maybe it can't be done with the Identify button, BUT it should be possible to make REST files pretty easy by reading a specific flash region, the only problem we have now is that SEMC will probs change the protection in the flash to different addresses and that - so when reading REST files it isnt forced to be a complete REST file on the protection.

Although this is a theory I could be wrong, if they use the same amount of data and flash addresses in each firmware version then it shouldn't be a problem, I think it would be excellent if we had a READ RESTORE FILE button or something just incase we cant get the files.

it is quite hard to read first bytes of flash files since this region is strongly protected if it would be easy we would have this feature from long ago
and yes if you look at your rest folder for same platform same size of file is used

Your Idea is very good but :

There is some problem in flashing PDA phones, it is not every time the setool won’t to start flashing, and the setool keep searching after the phone...

But if we restart the pc then it will work for only one phone and then if we wont to flash one more phone then we have to restart the pc again...

I say that it is from the last version because I have tested old version without any problem.

The goal is to make this helpfull for each setool user in the end.

When we have phone with FW supported, I unlock well phone but after that I want to change langpack and my phone's langpack is not suitable with supported FW such as vietnamese language (include in APAC FW).

New versions after v028 little bit more confusing, takes more thinking to learn :D ... was gonna complain as it was a bit annoying getting used to new settings with all settings moved all over the place- specially for user who uses alot and goes in and does manuall changes to setting all the time....

...BUT.. hehe it is actually an advantage. heheh;) as it only takes a bit of reading and requires som thinking. Since many shop cant seem to do that they dont know how to do and cant do which in turn generates more for professional shop who knows how to do.

I know i can make script myself, but i think 99 of 100 users want the app to be deleted, so it's better that 1 person makes script to KEEP the app, than 99 people using script to delete the app.

Ok, but i don't understand why not... He already added automatic installation, so why not automatic deinstallation also? Especially since it's very "dangerous" if we forget to delete it manually.

Guess i have to change all customization packages manually then, to remove it.

One final question: SE can fix this Java exploit in a simple firmware update? Meaning, they don't need to release a new CID version, they can simply fix it in the next firmware for all phones?

btw, it has nothing to do with Java.
but, as long as CID not changed - you can always downgrade phone to supported firmware and do required operations.
of course, you can buy dre_ambox and not care about firmware.
but, in time which required to do one phone with testpoint and damage every possible warranty, your competitors will do >=30 phones with software ;)

Hi, i get a problem, after phone dead by executor, with 032 and previous ,just check enable preloader and signed mode, unlock and phone live again, now we have to flash main and do all process again, can you implement that in new version again?

I today unlock Z310 and W200 by new bypass method and is easy.

as it appear ONLY in tems firmware, i will NOT do ANYTHING for it.
select restoration file manually into "rest file" area.

For example, when i do an identify for a W710 CID49, i don't receive information about bypass package, i have to check firmware info and search for bypass file in the rest folder...

It's because there is a new bypass unlock method for these CID's

When flashed in phones only appear at *** File System: Invalid File System.

the_laser, i thought that files could solve "can't take pics" problem, but it can't. i tried to flash that files in k200 problematic phones, but i only get what i said previously.
then i used fullflash + latest k205i flash, but i don't know if it will solve the problem.
but a lot of phones get back the problem after some days and the customer say: "this problem happened after unlock".
but you said me that is not unlock related problem, cheap phone have cheap components and more faults, but some phones are OK for months and get the problem after unlock

request for autostart TP operation, i mean just give some delay about 15~20 sec
after that operation start automaticly,

so we don't need to press "ready" button several times,
sometimes make hard to push "ready" button when workin alone,

Regarding Z550 and other abnormal fones without CID52 files in support, if OTP CID is = 51 and CID51 is available in support...

db201x abnormal CID52 phones Z530,Z550,W810 - NO CID52 firmwares.

...in case of phone dead thru aborted flashing, wrong unlock etc...

because of that, one mistake with that phones - and you get deadweight.
you have been warned.

...new update gives new light to resurrect these fones.....of course thru TP repair(db201X) on new Setool GUI...

7. now flash CORRECT db201x erom with needed CID.

in brazil we hava a lot of z530 cid51 with R6GA004 firmware, that cannot be found to creat rest file.

Laser would you considering improve or maybe repair the k220 and k200 ODM connection problem??? I really have a hard time of connecting those phone. other member would agree.

I already try all method laser. it only happen with k200 and k220 only not all of odm. all other is okay and can connect and do all operation smoothly. trust me only k200 and k220.

when i push the power button the phone power on it self and not booting like the usuall.

It can connect smoothly in previuos version. with the same 4 cables. with the UFS.
Now Suddenly It cannot connect no more, with the same 4 cabbles or with UFS. (as the version 38 emerged problem exist)

but i can always boot them such way:

connect phone with removed battery, then execute operations and quickly insert/remove battery until booting starts.
not hard to do at all.

Tested, on my PC version 38 and 39 cannot boot the k220 and k200, but i acquaired version 35, k200 and k220 boot smoothly and kick ass. :D

now downloaded version 40, but asked a virgin v38, but already patched to 39 so cannot install, so strange why don't make it 39 to 40? to make our life more easier. :D

Setool kicking ass in 40 k200 and k220 works well,
for the installation just copy the PatchWise.bak\ to the original directtory and just enjoy..

Latest version of SETool will not unlock M600 old version, comes up with an error I have not seen before, a box pops up with Cannot Find Resource! and when you click OK SETool closes. Unlocked now with version 37, is this a bug ?

scenario should be like button name swap gdfs or repair gdfs with swap method.
backup sec zone first
rewrite default gdfs
restore sec zone

For some days I was thinking to have some colors in Setool window:
For example when some one presses identify button: The information about
OTP CID 49 should show up in bold green color, Flash CID 53 in bold red color, Software version in bold brown color.

The advantage will be that it will be very easy to read just the required information for phone just with the help of color.
