why don't se-tool release a NON TP Repair procedure too for DB2020 Based phones (just join and take advantage at the market which already RUINED by kukuruzer)

ASIC VERA have control over most things in phones but now OTP is inside VERA and that is a problem because if i need changing VERA i cant write new OTP and if i take VERA from other phone i also need to take CPU because of OTP checksum in cpu right?

So then the phone will use that vera imei that i changed to and setool will fix checksum for cpu from "new" vera and so on?

4041 -patch unlocking with no problem(connect phone turned on with sim card)...tested just now with w880 & k800
5017 -waiting for phone, nothing happens,
my os state is not new installation, but not too bad...

If EROM ereased "itself" it is just a begining of your problems ;) in most cases HW prob. if prob is in cannection between CPU and FLASH.. then U can successfully repair.
HW revisions e.g.: 5060M0Y0B0 and 5060M0Y0BE - last symbol is revision/modification . Why statistically 5060M0Y0B0 has been more replaced than 5060M0Y0BE ? for that U must ask manufacturer :D

as far as i know the only otp areas are the ones that contein identity of the handset but the same way as you can write any flash file from any MARIKA to any oteher MARIKA as long as gdfs matches (if you repaired gdfs as a v630 then gdfs match) with firmware identity and flashes then it should work
so you can change flash chips if they are compatible and as long as you do not try to re write otp areas(identity i.e imei) if gdfs and firmware matches

well, after insecticide, there is nothing interesting things on a2, except their imei challenge. exception: otp programming :D

I heard that A2 imei is realy sophisticated.
there are complex signer on them, between PAF, IMEI and OTP data.

This is new platform, so it must be sophisticated. Next generation of SE will be more sophisticated than A2. But.. We have mr the_laser, so We needn't worry :D

"flash subblock confirm" failed means that your cable/cable settings bad and crc, which calculated by loader against received data is not matched with one, which calculated and sent by PC. Older version not checked CRC.

tune your latency/block size/use different cable.

about phone - it can be one of 3 things:

1. damaged erom, need fullflash, can be found in search
2. damaged seczone, setool2 will not help you

- removed auto-ignition for semc odm phones when using 4in1 cable,
use manual ignition - that will eliminate troubles with booting that phones.


this mean you have to power on phones manually each time software requires

can you check it cause i uninstalled and reinstalled antivirus and other softs inside my computer but i cannot get it back to normal so i think maybe is a new version issue

version 27 is corupt ve downloaded it twice but all the same can upload it again thanx

If u are annoyed by that simply add exeption in anti virus software. What AV software u use?

U get problems when install only i suppose, so deactivate anti virus software when start installation, after that when running setool sfotware there is no way that AV soft will show up errors.

Only, if u use some cracked outdate shitty version.

Since these times we see many errors occuring between OTP CID > FLASH CID
Would it be doable to make GUI window with coloured highlights to show what is wrong ?

I mean like an XML editor

So users could best see what is wrong right directly.

Also it could highlihgt wrong CDA Article, wrong PAF, IMEI MISMATCH, BROWN phone ...

One colour for each fault critical, minor and major , etc

Though all is already displayed, colours contrasting may help the eyes to diagnose faults quicker.

This is a drivers problem, try to clean installed drivers in devices manager, "show hiden devices" ticked

I would be nice to have the option to choose where the REST folder is, instead for it to look for rest files \SETOOLDIR\REST\

I tried too look in the setool.ini but there is no option REST folder dir.

I use 3 diffrent versions of setool, and i have 3 copies of my rest folder. It would be nice to only have 1.

I don't really like to overwrite a good install i have when you release a new.
So i, like i think most of us put in its own folder. And instead of copying entire REST catalog from old to new, it would be nice to have it on a seperate location until going over fully to a new version.

And i still use old setool when a phone is CID52, cause its less time consuming than the new way with bypass. and I i have a REST for that too.
If you make new setool where i can choose my rest folder, i would point it too my 0.914027 Rest folder and that way i have only 1 copy of the rest files :)

setool2 does not invents anything. it is reading values from GDFS.

If your Flashing & Unlocking a Cid 52, its faster to do it the fast way. By that i mean its more automatic than the new way.
The new way, i have to start executer, or let the program start it for me, i need a simcard in it.

The old way, plug it in, press flash, after 1-2minute, remove cable + battery, plug it and let it do the job.
Under the time i can watch simpsons and don't worry about executor.

Sometimes i have had to reflash the phone because executor won't work with the flash when it says bypass is available.. it just keeps restarting the phone, or it says "this game cannot be started".
So i have to flash the phone, start it, so that it recognizes the new flash, turn it of, unlock in the program, start the phone, activate executer, and finnish.

Its just simpler for me with the old way :-)

"this game can not started" - bad executor (or phone was not turned on once after new firmware)

"executor restarts phone" - executor using tricky things to bypass phone, you need fully turn phone on. also, from version 031 there was made some improvements for such matter.

in any case, 2-3 minute for new bypass is better that ~13 minutes of "old"

according to FAQ, you must check ONLY "signed mode" and "use preloader security bypass" for phones in state "step #2 of new altbypass".

setool can flash only 1 pnx5230 phone at the same time, flash more than 1, setool will close itself. i've tried different setool version, on different computers, same problem.... can it be fixed?

missing connection from phone PWB and LCD make phone detect K700.
almost in many DB2020 phones.

that "default values" is same from time of k700 phone - and - phone model unit, which stored inside - is "K700".

after that values merged with gdfs, phone os proceeds with drivers installation.
and only after successful drivers initialization, phone os writing real phone model name and current firmware version in gdfs.

obviously, if some driver failed to install (device malfunction), phone os halting and phone name stay intact (K700)

someday ago i try change NAND flash in K550 phone,
but after change nand flash phone can complete flash,
phone failure in "CS FS Startup"

try also change Nor Flash IC with new one and do emptyfill job but still same problem,

after put it back Original NAND flash IC phone can flashed successfully.

915034 often hang up on the validating seletected flash file... after that se tool cannot start must reboot computer . :( what a pain.

the cause:
setool cause the scardsvr.exe process hang up, if ohter smart card software are run together. such kukuruzer. but oddly the kukuruzer are friendly with other smartcard software. the only problem setool is frezzing. :rolleyes:

setool2 works with absolutely any software, which using smartcards without any problems.
no hangs, no any race conditions,etc.

i had personally checked simultaneous work of: setool2+vygis+rocker+z3x+kukuruzer and found no single problem.

yeha also i work with ustpro + setool3 witouth any problem polar+setool any problem

i face some trouble with jaf pkey too, if jaf is connected, setool2 splash screen shows for two seconds and just disappears

it was troubled in intermitent manner. usually when it hang up, press the stop button, it didn;t respond. the task didn't stop or terminated. so we got to kill it using task manager. after that se tool cannot start. just showing the banner and then, it just bail out.

most of it happened in "preparing files..."

so far uninstall didn't solve the problem. maybe all of my pc's usb is damaged.

so i just report the unkown bug here again.

you can report it countless times, there is no bug in software,there is bug in your system.

Or most likely a windows/drivers setup issue ;)

the thing is that application, which using smartcard CAN NOT "hang" smart card service.
if smartcard service hangs, it is definitely means that there is problems with software (some emulating/sniffing layer, bad smartcard drivers, damaged smartcard subsystem) or with hardware (dying smartcard,bad smartcard connection, smartcard using via sharing software,etc)

marshe: weird. I´ve got similar error in 034 version. After using an older one, I has been fine.

latest version (034) working with pda just perfectly, i tested personally all possible models.
shown error is can happen due communications or overloaded usb, discharged battery.

I've got a dead K850i phone.
the flashing process always fail when writing FS to the phone. i've tried many combinations of flash files but still no help.

I've manage to get NEW fresh Flash chip for K850 (INTEL 5070MOYOVE).

so i change the flash chip with the new one.
but after change the flash chip, the can not be detected anymore !! (while holding "c" or "2+5" the usb NOT detected by computer)
even when i try to connect the phone without any flash chip while holding 2+5 and without holding anykeys at all, it still not detected.


The security zone in A2 Based phones is in VERA Asic so it should be possible to change the flash chip, am i right sir?

maybe you can ADD some feature in setool to fill ROM area for NEW flash chip.

NO ! I didn't do that. the comp and setool can not recognize the phone maybe because Nothing inside the NEW Flash chip :p
I resolder the old flash chip again and the phone back to its original state (can detected, can flash but always error when writing FS) :o


hopefully new booming updates will come soon and the best tool will do that :D

i just bought my setool last month...and i know that i still have a lot of things to learn about this..i was just lucky that i have co forum members that i turn to everytime i have a problem regarding setool.. now sir may i ask (hope you dont mind) if what other se units i can unlock or flash that was not on the list of units on the setool window(sorry for my bad english) for example i just unlocked a se c510 but theres no c510 at se a2 tab...so i decided to use c905 instead..but it works!..so i will just ask to the pro's what other units can i flash or unlock on my setool and also what units will be needing logs for unlocking...thanks and more power... by the way i felt so sad when i heard that there will be no updates for setool...i hope it wasnt true... i love setool...

any db2020 phone can be serviced by selecting any db2020-based phone.
same for all semc a2 phone.
"old" db2010 phones should be selected properly (w550,k750,etc) for service in unsigned mode.
"new" db2010 (so-called db2012) phones can be serviced by selecting any db2012-based phone.

i do not know where you heard that setool2 will stop updates. simple said, at the moment current version of setool2 supports all possible phones, nothing to update.

Today i try to flash LG 3G 8120 but when I klik ADD, it won't receive / add any type of file. (i try with *.zip format and *.ssw.cry format) :confused:

.zip will never be added in lg tab
old obsolete (big files) .cry format not supported anymore, support area contains only new format.

I know that there was in the earlier versions to power on the phone with sim card type <**< and enter "00000000" az NCK but that info is missing in the 0.915036 version

confirmed, fixed, 036 version on support replaced (too minor bug to release new version)

2 bugs i found ...

1. semc a2 tab ... while preparing for some operation, and want to cancel it, when stop pressed bug appears, buttons stay greyed,, press stop again and it loop last line "connect phone while holding "c" button",
software cant be closed, only way to pull off security card off to exit the software.
bug found while working on C902 phone.

2. Semc A2 tab ... (cosmetic bug) software says "connect phone in bootrom mode (holding 2+5) "
and in status bar says "connect phone while holding "c" button"

second is known, maybe will fix it (need change too much things ... do not know if it worth it)

I can stop the flash with this version, thanx the bugfix!

The unlock afterflash does not work. It does NOT take credits neither.
using this CFG:100011100100000
tried 3pcs SE T707 same result, need to unlock it manally after flash.

Also, sometimes when pressing STOP during unlock completly freezes the program. done that on db2020.
older setool versiones never had any freeze.

press unlock, then press stop, (it should freeze now) else press unlock, press stop and it freezes. 100%
not real bug, but sometimes i click the unlock button accidentaly when wanting to press flash.. and that happens.

can you bring 'clear the user code' function back, sir?

but on the other hand, 'identify' can still read the user code.

expected behaviour, user code reset are not available for db2000,db2010 phones.
because of that, only unlock is network unlock.

user code can be shown in identify output

just learn about acpu revovery via uart on setool2.
is it possible for setool also to access ccpu via uart? so we can fully manage and maintain those phone part?

Today I trayed to conent a V2 Locosto Sagem . 1st' phase vas recognized,secon don't,like in all other soft for now . Did U think ,mybe ,to put sagem Locosto phones in your tool ,coz I thing will be great,and easy to manage with credits.

i never even looked at sagem phones.
maybe it is time to do that... but first i must finish some local work here...
