unexperienced users of setool, beware - beta versions can drive you crazy, kill phones, kill computer, and simple it is dangerous to use.

I find:

1. on opening 9th window, program exits
2. When opened more than 1 window, then minimize 1 and restore it, preogram exits.

I don't know if its just me experienced this problem.
When I try to flash a 902sh in a singe window, the program just automatically exits.

why i can't reproduce any of your problem? really strange.

Now all phone is ok already with old version, some of my customer report to me K508 also cannot flash using the latest version just now!!Same error ....just stop like the error i mention !!!

I test this latest version of SETool v0.913721/UNI
And it doesnt work :(
I simple open setool2g.exe, open 3 subsessions of SE Tool2 and Click over the INFO button [Only Registered Users Can See Links] and the program auto close whit no error message!

I think the problem is in the Dongle reading, becouse i can see thats is illuminate very fast, too many check at the same time!

there's still some minor bugs in the new v0.91370

when you open till 14th window,it will auto terminate the main program. i encounter that. but it is still better than yesterday :D



I havent problem in my system, latest version v0.91361 vorks perfectly (i havent see any problem)

Can it depends on screen resolution? I use 1280x1024, and when i start SETool the aplication fitt all the screen.

I run the setool2g.exe open 3 sessions, when i start to open the 4th session, setool show me this error: [Only Registered Users Can See Links] (hapend 1 times)
Test it again and no hapend.

Second Test:
I have open setool2g.exe, open 5 subsessions of SE Tool2 and, send to try, use iexplorer, click the INFO button, OK! but when i click on the master close button, it close only one attempt of setool, e click a second time on the master close button and it close normal.
I think its fine!

If i have enugh time a will do another test...

I'm cannot confirm for sure but after disable "hyper treading" seem like everything is fine now flashing 4 pcs at the same time!!

For those who using high speed CPU try to disable the "hyber treading" and post result!!

seems stable.

also, there is 3 formats inside extension ".cry"
older ones (logger) can be deciphered and implemented.
newer (card) - well.. can be deciphered too if you have card.

But I can confirm is the P4 HT problem

Tested for unlock , flashing and read flash,read gdfs and open/close when flashing/unlock.
All 4 pcs K700 at the same time.
Regarding different model at the same time need somebody else to help

No bug found at "Window 98/Me compability" or "disable HT"

And for notebook with Intel Centiro also facing same problem like "HT" need to change compability to "Window 98/Me compability"

This is my test result and i'm not sure will help other or not!

I have problem with SEtool.I can not choose other phone then K750/D750/W800 or Z1010.No more.
In second window I can choose K300/J300 or K500/K508/F500.

good work the laser, i test the last version and everything is fine. However it would be very interesting if you add like in ufs/twister "save ini file" option for each model so everything will be automatic when selecting a brand. Also the drag and drop function that allow to select the 4 files for LG is very appereciate. Thanks for the great work and we wait you to be the leader again with the first LG 8380 good unlock solution ;) :)

First test
open 6 attempt click in info much time! All ok! GREAT
Use master close button, and it close normal! GREAT

Now minimize, and use another aplication TEST (the bad test) cross finger

Minimize test failed!
If i open 4 attempt, click INFO button, open 5° attempt, all OK, but when i minimize it and use another aplication, setool (disapear from task bar) auto close, whit no error message.

PS: also previous version have this problem whit minimize!

Now its only minimize the problem!

mr. the_laser, problem found, minimize and all small problems are solved if i disable Hiper Thread Tecnology on my P4 Intel 2.8GHz.

But all P4 upper from 2.8 GHz have Hiper Thread Tecnology enabled by default, and the computer its more fast whit that tecnlogy enabled, and i dont wont to disable it by BIOS menu every time for use Setool.

THE PROBLEM IT'S CONNECTED WHIT HIPER THREAD!

now all clear why i can't reproduce autoclose problems - cause i have no intel cpu in home. i have only here amd64 and on my work amd socketA ;)

well. now i will take intel cpu with hyperthreading and will test it throughly.

the problem definitely in damned protector.
setool2 very actively using threads and windows xp with hyperthreading (look for os like two physical cpu) is putting threads on different cpus (randomly based, depends on very many things)

when threads are attaching to one cpu - execryptor resoving it ok.
when threads is attaching to different cpu - a floating error occurs and it shuts down.

well, i have a nice idea.
will try to direct os to put threads to one cpu ;)

My windows is fresh win2000 with every updates from Microshit. :)

2 - after flashing the last of the 4 files on 8330 ( w_out TP ) the Setool Window disapear, but program remain in memory.

like I write before,problem solved by using only serial cable and flash drive c with very low speed,take ~15 min only for that but in the end write ok and phone alive.with serial+usb cable flash error allways at block 109/168.

up to this version I always have crashing problem ....even now I'm trying to flash one k700 and when loading main flash - the program window just dissapears...this happened at least 5 times and practically I can't start flashing the phone...

the version I was using was v0.9137271/downloaded yesterday/...now I'll download it again and will give a try....
anyway...the version you attached in post #102 gave me same result...when start to load "main firmware file" or "file system image" the program just disappear..I should browse them very quickly and push "flash" button to be able to start the process....once started - there's no problem at all, using other functions of SETool also don't give me this effect....
so...I'll ckeck the v0.9137271 which I just downloaded from support....

Yeah, iknow what you mean. hehe or I do have some problems from time to time but its not SETOOL2 problem. Its usually user fault and/or cable fault.. So keep up the good work..

BIN files are the dump files from the flash memory by setool.

2. When opened more than 1 window, then minimize 1 and restore it, preogram exits.

The read out is from $29c00000 len $200000 on a 703sh.
There is like a 100kb difference in size.

the_laser: The latest versions of SEtool have problems connecting to phones on UFS. I have to stop/start action a few times before it connects.

maybe not setool problem ? seems you have "new" driver for ufs. use one which place in setool distr.

The UFS (or drivers) have not been touched since it worked with previous versions of SEtool (before multi-interface). I'll test some more tomorrow.

I have tested this latest SE Tool v0.9137282 and i found one small bug!

When i open SE Tool click on INFO button and switch to LG3G tab; and i open another subsessione of SE Tool click on INFO button and switch to LG3G tab. Now if close the 2 subsession the program auto-close.

I think the problem it's again Hiper Thread problem, becouse randomly hapens!

so, you can (in theory) flash cid 16 flashfile into cid36 mobile.

how to do.

- we have cid16 file and want to flash them into cid29 phone.

what to do
1. select needed cid16 files into main, fsimage, check complete
2. SELECT into CHANGE CID ORIGINAL MOBILE CID - in our case REDCID29
3. press flash...
that's all.

i guese the phone was locked on one off the locks, and after the "unlock/repair" it was locked on all 5, but just guesing.

if only unlock or repair, just flash erom and all...
if anything other, you need reflash it:
1. flash erom +change cid=red37
2. flash main+fs with k600 flashfiles (must flash with cid change=red37)
3. test - work or not.

cause i not exeperience problem with gdfs reading on any phone.
i'm using 921600 on db2010 and 460800 on db2010.

anyway, something will be done to stabilize reading

also, if you using ftdi usb2com convertors (cruiser4in1, etc), strongly suggest to use latest drivers for them.

To solve my problem I had to 1° change CID to brown (manually) then write gdfs.

Now I'm trying to write attached gdfs to a K750i (that's work perfectly with this gdfs) but SETool closes, here it's a screenshot just before application crash:

gdfs I want write to my K750i is attached, maybe could be usefull to fix the problem.

btw: Also with Format gdfs same error

I did this cowboy trick:

Goto SE tab and do recovery there, after this then fullflash phone with org firmware+ gdfs, finish with unlock/repair.

@laser ....it was v0.9137285 but there was fuc**in virus on my two computers.....some new antivirus programs and problem is solved.....thanx for asking now all is ok :)

a new beta... just rearranged settings and again our lovely "crashing" problems.

please, test.

note, now all settings is common and separated in one tab.

"set color to RED after operations" - will set color to RED after operations ;)

as far as iknow the one usb smart uses is r1k, but zulea just changed the string in the fw or something. but dunno. anyway r1l sw would be great:)

I've managed to get a readout of R1N035 (immediately after SEUS and not having turning it on) for the K750i with standard addresses.

But it always fails to work 100%. I managed to get the phone to start and all - but:
- no other languages except English
- camera driver version is not correct

Any suggestions on possibly getting the readout to work?

Maybe we can't just flash back FS for now, but maybe we need to readout firmware in 2 parts, MAIN and FS and then flash them back that way...

Tested the Beta, all Go fine, Flashing Unlocking SE and LG, But "Unlock after Flash" option Didnt work.

And please, ADD Ini mode.

SEUS updates FS different way, so we can't fetch untouched FS.
i will think something about it.

my Q is,can We (all SeTool users) change CID (virtualy) to 37 in all supported SE phones (for example K500,K700,K750..ect)?The purpose of this operation is to "lock" this changed CID phones for servicing by other softwares(incl. free one) that not have support for CID37!

If this(changing CID "technology" ;) ) didnt work,can the_laser think out some other technik to do that(like making some custom CID or other trick!!? :rolleyes:

If you do Unlock/repair with setool, this will lock the phone if the phone is already unlocked. I tested this on lg 8110, 8120,8130,8138,

Today i got 2 k750 for flasing to w800 and i used the latest beta. everything was ok untill the end. when i got the PHONE DETACHED msg the program closed it self, the phones were working but i had to restart my computer in order to run setool again. if i just started it the splash screen came up and just hang there.

attached is a system info file with my hw configuration and some off the background progs i had running while working. this is the first time i encounter the shutdown problem.

the_laser: When i flashed a K500i today it didn't manage to start FS when completing phone: "loader filesystem startup failed, that is fatal". Tried to turn on/off phone many times without helping.

However, an old version of the UFS standalone client manged to complete the phone. So there may be a bug in the new client (I used the latest beta). Unfortunately i don't have full log now.

Great thing the new Settings tab, but - why setool doesn't remember the settings???
I don't want to check "complete phone" again and again and just becouse you removed it from main SEMC tab, it can be easily forgotten to check...

Please make settings saveable and I think "complete phone" should be checked by default!
