Hello everyone here... this is my first message on this board and I am new to the whole world of cellphone hacking/reprogramming.
I recently purchased an Audiovox PPC-5050. It is the Bell Mobility model and is currently activated with Bell on a pay-as-you-go plan.
I was really excited about this phone and still want to use it as my primary phone. I am an existing Bell customer and have an existing plan with Bell Mobility. I am currently using an Audiovox 8450 on my existing plan.
As excited as I am about the PPC-5050 there simply are situations where it is not practical. It’s bigger then a regular phone and significantly more expensive. On snowboarding trips it’s the last thing I want to be lugging around. It also has some nerd-appeal and is the last thing I want to be pulling out of my pocket on a Friday night when I’m out at the bar.
I need the option to easily switch between phones at will. How can I share an ESN between these two phones and what would be the best way to do this?
Should I get an ESN change done through Bell so the PPC-5050 is my "real" phone as far as Bell is concerned and then clone the ESN of the PPC-5050 to my 8450?
Or should I say nothing at all to Bell and figure out how to copy the ESN from my 8450 to my PPC-5050? Does it matter what phone Bell has on "the books" for me?
Can I do this myself? What is involved? Do I need software? Cables? Or can the programming be done directly on the phone itself through the keypad? If I cannot do it myself is there a place I can take the two phones to get this done? I live in the Hamilton area but would be willing to go for a bit of a drive to get this done. Is the ESN the only think I need to change? These are both Bell phones.
If I never have both phones turned on at the same time is there anyway I can get caught? These are both Bell Mobility phones and are both fully supported on Bell's network. I just want to have a single phone number between the two of them. I simply want to be able to switch phones when I go out on the weekends or go on camping trips and stuff like that.
