Can someone please provide a solution to programming the Audiovox PPC 6700, or how to get/ build a serial cable for this phone. I have been trying to use QPST or Bitpim but I cannot get any software to connect through the USB cable, I have tried the Bitpim Linux approach but cant get it going yet. Thanks

which model are you trying to flash, the sprint, Qwest, VZW or alltel. I use the USb connection, and load the prl through active sync. then go into the phone programming, and load the new prl into the prl file and its flashed

How do you change the PRL through activesync?

Do you use the same method for the Treo 650,700?

once the phone is connected to active sync. you copy and save the PRL file onto the phone. once that is done, you can disconenct from AS.

on the qwest phones, you dial ##778# ( alltel and VZW i beleive is ##775# or #*#775#)and then you have to put in the sub lock. Once you are in, the top left has a drop down selection, select PRL. then the first line is the PRL file, select it, then click edit. when you browse for the new PRL file, the file you saved will be there once you click browse. select the file, click OK, then clock the X in the top right, it will tell you the phone needs to reset to save and walla, its flashed.

hope this helps.

Since you have successfully changed the PRL, you probably know how to change the SPC. Plz share with us how to do so..

msl can be obtained through bitpim by accessing the nvm_security file on the device. make sure you have correct ppc modem drivers

You can do it with a USB cable just put the phone in Diag mode ##3424 Send and find the correct drivers which are posted already just gotta search use kyocera spc tool which will change your SPC to Zero, use QPST to load PRL
