Thanks tian 16-08-2006, 07:51 If you have straight trough USB cable, you can't convert it to serial. If you still prefer USB, you must use USB to serial converter ( like with Prolific IC) and modified the pinout. If you want real serial cable, you need cable with max232 IC, you can buy it or make it for yourself. all diagram and pinout of treo are available on the net. just search. BTW, what version of Treo you'd like to use with this cable ? GSM or CDMA ? as far as I know, serial interface don't work with GSM version , only CDMA xafo 16-08-2006, 21:48 If you have straight trough USB cable, you can't convert it to serial. The SW only reads Com ports so i have a USB sync cable with the Sync botton and was wondering how to convert to a 9 pin Serial tian 23-08-2006, 09:19 well, the cable u mentioned above are original USB cable which don't have chip on it (straight through cable). as far as i know, you can not convert this cable to serial, you need USB to serial cable, you need to buy cable like Future dial cable and mod the pinout. BTW : you can google it out, I had already read in some website that give you exact instruction to mod the cable and pinout, but i forgot the url. |
