Sony’s PlayStation 2 mega-hit based on the ATV riding experience is headed to the small screen courtesy of Glu. Hoping to tear up some terrain, we kick-started this preview version right up to give it a test drive.
ATV Offroad Fury currently features Classic mode and Single Event with the ability to catch big air and perform insane tricks in each. Classic mode allows you to advance through mission-based levels so as to unlock new tracks and upgrade your ATV. Single Event, on the other hand, is a quick race through one of the previously unlocked tracks to rack up points, but also makes new upgrades available.
The racing action is very similar to the console version in that you have a variety of tracks, terrains and weather conditions to trek through while competing against other riders and performing stunts. Unlike the console version however, it is presented here in side scrolling 2D.
In Classic mode, in order to continue on to the next race, the minimum requirement is to come in second place. Other optional requirements include scoring a certain amount of points from tricks, performing specific tricks, and dusting a couple of competitors off their ride. It seems like there’s a lot to be aware of but it’s all handled easily by using both the D-pad and keypad in conjunction. The D-pad controls ATV movement and rider handling, while the keypad is in charge of performing the aerial hijinks that are pretty cool.
As you accelerate and climb a hill, a Preload gauge fills to give your ATV that extra lift needed at the crest to catch some big air. While in the air, you can perform tricks like the Stripper, Holy Man, Cliffhanger and Tsunami. All have to be performed just at the right moment because if you’re a second too late, there’s a huge wipeout in store that might cost you the race.
ATV Offroad Fury has a good look to it with large vehicles, smooth scrolling and lots of color. It also currently has a rocking soundtrack and sound effects during racing. The races, at this time, don’t seem to vary much because each track has basically the same types of requirements, but we’re sure that’ll get varied more as the final product receives tweaks. In it’s current state, the game is easy to enjoy, but we’ll have full disclosure when a final version is received close to its launch date in Q3 2006.

I am not that keen on java games...i did not buy a smart phone to run java...but each to his own...try this post.....SKYFORCE RELOADED......you know of sky force....well this is reloaded....2 and 3 d graphics engine......try it...this is a "SIS" file.....so works on most of not all series 60 phones....it works on a nokia 6600 and a nokia N70...so it have been tested.....if you need the java game of the same title just let me know....:) ...if it is posted in another place on this forum please remove it mod...thanks..:)....and this was downloaded from another site so you know...
