I tried to change ESN of 6700 as mentioned in [Only Registered Users Can See Links] and it worked like a cake, Thanks all for this wonderful forum

To change SPC and OTKSL do following:

1. Connect phone using QPST and note down com port number it is connected to.
2. Open BITPIM and choose port on which QPST connect.
3. Read file system
4. in /nvm/nvm/nvm_security contains your MSL and OTKSL. First 6 digit in line 70 is your MSL / SPC and second 6 digits are your OTKSL

More easy. Configure Diag port in com2 and use kyocera slider tools.

Hi Kshah,

I have PPC from Qwest and want to use with Cricket serivce. I've read the instruction on how to change SPC and flash PRL but still don't understand. I have the Unicdma box.
Could you give me more detail on the process.
Great forum!

Hi Luzer,

You mean I don't have to do anything on my Qwest PPC 6700? Just call Cricket, give them the ESN and program the phone manually?
What is the SPC for the this Qwest PPC 6700?
How to flash PRL on this Qwest PPC 6700?
Thank you,

Load drivers (thanks kshah for the link!)
Put 6700 in diag mode (##3424# or ##3424 TALK) and press 'start'
Connect to PC
Read SPC in BitPim (read file system and in NVM file 0002 will be codes)
Close BitPIM
Open QPST
Load PRL (roam tab) and write (you do not need to read the phone first)

You do not need to change the SPC. Once Cricket has changed the ESN, manual program (##SPC#).

You can change the SPC for the OTA programming if you want.

Is the 6700 in diag mode?

Do you know the com port that the 6700 is on? You will need to select the correct port in bitpim and chose 'other cdma phone'.

theres even a easier way to zero out the spc.put 6700 on com 1

use the se47 tool used for kyocera it will read and change spc to 000000 in 5 sec

close then use qpst and bam everything takes about 15 seconds!

heres the tool i mentioned..remember the 6700 has to be in diag mode it will then show up as a port which you want to move to com 1.

hope this helps...

omg, what language are you speaking?!? lol :)

sorry guys, most of the technical aspect of this is over my head (I'm a musician, ask me about guitars and amps) - i *do* have a PPC6700 (Sprint) that I want to use on MetroPCS, and I've seen some folks say it's been done, but not how.

Is there an exceedingly simple way to do this, or a guitarist-friendly, plain-english guide somewhere? :)

My sprint account is active, as is my metropcs account. I want to retain the phone number current on the sprint account/ppc6700 - i just want it all to work on my metropcs account (to save tons of money, retain the programs/gps/etc that i've grown accustomed to on my 6700, etc.)

Help?

Thanks! :)

also note the phone/radio has to be ON for this to work or any serial communications to work.

i just tried for a few hours and found out the phone has to be on and in diag mode for the drivers to load and all the evil to be done.

ok so i've cloned my refound 6700 to my basic model samsung...
the phone works. woohoo! I just leave that off ALL the time so there's no problem.

question: Does it matter what MSL code / OTPK I use? or does it have to match the samsung? does sprint use it to verify anything like vision or updating?

also will i have to worry about sprint sending a phone update for the samsung and it trying to install on the 6700?
