PPCxv6700guy 12-04-2007, 10:48 What service provider is it from? mike34873 12-04-2007, 21:22 sprint kirbykirbykirby3 13-04-2007, 10:15 you can make it work w/ Cricket/Metro PCS or sprint again. :) Or You can resell it as parts only... mike34873 13-04-2007, 20:59 how can i make it work with sprint again? WPR 13-04-2007, 21:02 Unless you change the ESN to another one already in Sprint's system (one that is no longer in use or was not lost or stolen) you cannot reuse it with Sprint. They are the strictest US carrier. kirbykirbykirby3 15-04-2007, 08:28 Yes that's true. You will need a EvDO sprint phone to change the ESN too.. or maybe get a broken 6700 w/ a good esn.. anyway it's going to be a fun path to go down to make it work on sprint again... Tho what you can do is, if you are about to end on contract, you can go to a sprint store and say you'll renew it if they'll clear the esn for you...I seen this happen once or twice, not to common, but it can be done :) luzer 15-04-2007, 18:47 @mike34873 just to let you know, ESN tampering is a federal crime in the USA WPR 16-04-2007, 03:44 @mike34873 just to let you know, ESN tampering is a federal crime in the USA And I should have pointed that out and messing with the ESN is something I do not recommend. justanotheruser 16-04-2007, 06:26 Ok so i just purchased a ppc-6700 off of ebay and what a surprise, its on the lost or stolen list. do i have any options besides throwing it away? Did you call this into sprint or take it to a store? If you took it to a store, they might just be screwing with your head. Call it into sprint--if it shows up again as in trouble ask them to trace the ESN history. Sprint and metro PCS stores will always say the phone is lost or stolen/water damage/still on an active account/etc.. if you got it off of ebay--they're DICKS. However, if it does show up again and they won't activate--I would do as others have suggested here--drop a cricket PRL (current is 1039 I think) on it and sell for cricket--just make sure you tell people it won't work for cricket clicks and picture messaging (although, with work you CAN it on the internet) Also--make sure you leave a big fat NEG for the cock-muncher who sold it to you :p justanotheruser 16-04-2007, 06:32 Unless you change the ESN to another one already in Sprint's system (one that is no longer in use or was not lost or stolen) you cannot reuse it with Sprint. They are the strictest US carrier. Even that wouldn't help if it's not an ESN from the same model--otherwise it's red flags when you ask about picture service and downloading at EV-DO speeds with what is registered as a sch-3500... the only time you justify messing with ESN's is when you are repairing a phone/replacing a chip with a donar/etc.. |
