I have put the Sprint PPC6700SP in Diag Mode and press start. I have downloaded drivers from this forum, but I cannot get them to load. I have also tried to modify the drivers as outlined below and still have not got them to work. Please advise
-------------------------------------
What to do: (Explaination in NEXT post)
1. download the "Qualcomm (PID:3197) Drivers" from: [Only Registered Users Can See Links]
2. extract the above ZIP file to a empty folder
3. goto extracted folder and edit BOTH the "qcmdm2k.inf" AND "qcser2k.inf" files:
qcmdm2k.inf [Models] section:
CHANGE:
%QUALCOMM02% = Modem2, USB\VID_05C6&PID_3197&MI_00
TO SAY:
%QUALCOMM02% = Modem2, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0B03&MI_00
qcser2k.inf [QcomSerialPort] section:
CHANGE:
%QcomDevice% = QportInstall, USB\VID_05C6&PID_3197&MI_01
TO SAY:
%QcomDevice% = QportInstall, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0B03&MI_01
4. UNINSTALL and REMOVE ALL ATTEMPTS with other drivers
5. UNPLUG your phone from USB
6. put phone in DIAG mode #3424 and click START
7. plug phone USB back into computer
8. two "Found New Hardware" wizards come up, point both to the directory where the NEW inf files AND drivers are
9. look in "Device Manager" in "Devices by connection" mode for a chain of THREE devices off your USB port: ("Composite USB Device", "Qualcomm Proprietary USB Modem (PID 3197)", "Qualcomm Diagnostics Interface") If you find ALL THREE of these with NO RED X's or YELLOW !'s your good
10. start QPST Config and ADD the DIAG port (second of two NEW COM ports)
11. Start the program you want (ie. Service Programming, EFS Explorer) and select the COM port you just setup (NOT WORK OFFLINE mode) to read in settings from your phone.
12. now HAVE FUN
