This file is needed to flash the phone.....it's part of the FW.

i think the map file not important for u8120 only for 8110 can any body confirm ???

also u need working map for 8110 if the map is not good u will get always insert sim card with sim inside

The U8120 GDFS file is needed surely. Even thought our phones are alive, they have damaged GDFS zone and can't be unlocked by any software, till today.

This file is needed urgently!
Griffin server gives "Wrong Phone" selected, Redbox gives error, Clip blinks the red light 7 times. All these mean serious gdfs damages.

If someone has it, please post it here.

The phone can be flashed(updated) with new firmware but without the .map file the unlocking part remains damaged thus not enabling an unlock), can anyone post it? Is the 8110 GDFS file compatibile?

Here is my situation. Thought I would try to falsh 8130 soft onto 8120 with 8130 gdfs..

Now my 8120 does not decode the speech codecs correctly from the GSM signal. Hence Speech is audable but Bitty.. (best way to explain it.

Noise signals like engaged etc sound perfect with no problem.

So I rekon the gdfs file contains the specific phones decode routine etc for the gsm network including other various option of the handset.

I have a bin of the 8120 gdfs but do not want to spend money on SETOOL for just one phone.. If anyone knows how to convert it let me know. Or has it please send.

By the way i can help ya unlock your 8120 for free. i can send all the files required to an email just mail me.

Hi everybody;i have one u8120(v101) it powers on ok without simcard but when i put the simcard and enter pincode it shuts down.i tried to flash it with v105UK but the problem persists.What's the problem?please help

Upgrade to v105 but put v101 drive c instead of v105. All the other files as v105.. Makes a hybrid update that can then be unlocked and your sim card should work in it ok.
