This is a complete tutorial how to "play" with the V3 when flashbackup erases the pds and would not restore it.

1 V3 PDS Backup using FlashBackup 2.61 or later
1.1. Connect Phone and open (FB) Flashbackup 2.61 or later and select Backups.
1.2. Put a check mark in the disable backup compression box.
1.3. Choose loader and select the FB directory “RamDld Pack” and select 32 MB (08A0).ldr
1.4. In the Backup Mode box choose PDS Backup
1.5. Press the CREATE button. Backup begins. Takes a few seconds, then done.
Store this file in a safe place in case you need it in the future.
It may not always bail you out but it can be a brick saver.
Remember the PDS on someone elses phone will NOT work on your phone
2 Creating a PDS Flash .shx File (for backup restore or repair)
2.1. Place your PDS backup file with the .bin extension in the PDS_Flash directory.
2.2. Now open SHXCoDec 2.66 or later and press the SPLIT SOURCE SHX FILE.
2.3. Locate the PDS_Flash folder and select the “R374_V3_PDS_template.shx” file then press OPEN,
the file will then be split into 2 files the RAM Downloader and CG6.
2.4. Select/highlight the CG6 file of type PDS
with the address of start=10010000, end=1001FFFF, size=65,536
2.5. Now choose REPLACE and change the files type to (Bin Files *.bin)
select your backup PDS.bin file in the PDS_Flash folder and press OPEN and then confirm replacement.
2.6. Now press COMPILE SHX and enter a new file name for the PDS Flash backup.
Make sure the .shx extension is there. Then press save, compiling begins,
the process will be done when compiled.
2.7. Flash bootloader R374_V3BL_07.D0.shx before you flash restore.
Use MFF or RSD Lite to flash your phone with the PDS flash file that you created.
3 Extracting *.bin file from *.fbp
3.1 Change the extension from .fbp to .cab
3.2 Extract it with winrar, you should now have a 32MB file for the full backup or 64KB file for the PDS.
4 Extracting the pds from a full backup (flashbackup)
We will work with full backup in bin format.
4.1. Load the Full backup into XVI32
4.2 address > goto > Hex absolute 10000
Edit > block mark
4.3 address > goto > Hex absolute 1FFFF
Edit > block mark
4.4 Edit > clipboard > copy
4.5 File > New
4.6 Edit > clipboard > paste
4.7 Save as PDS.bin (64k file size, 0000-FFFF)
The first 3 bytes in the file should be text 'PDS'
5 How to fix the flashbackup restore problem for "bricked phones" by it.
5.1. flash the RFDI .shx image file wich can be found in

5.3. flash your PDS with flash file that you created in 2.
5.4. flash the monster pack that you last had working.
