Wallpaper/Ringer ID’s – *First, as of today (8 Jun 2003), the only formats I know of that the A530 supports is .bmp*
File Formats – This is the first crucial step (If you don’t know how to convert .bmp’s into the following formats, research a little online (www.google.com)). Wallpaper should be 128 x 128 pixels, and up to 24 bit color. Caller ID images should be 32 x 32 and up to 256 colors. (If you feel like pushing the limit and trying more, cool. That’s how I discovered most of this to begin with). All images must be bitmaps, ending with .bmp.
To upload an image, since both go into the same directory, it’s even simpler. Run GAGIN, you’ll see your directories. Open “nvm,” and then “brew.” You’ll see the following directories
”en”
“es”
“Download”
and maybe others, depending on if you have games or not. Now you will need to create a “shared” folder. Do so. Open this folder. Copy your images to your phone. Restart your phone, and voila, you can see them. (if you don’t know how see them, go to menu, 6, 1, 3, and scroll through your images)
Note – Do not upload more than 10 images on your phone, the phone is limited to 10 custom images (www.phonescoop.com).
Games - *You must have purchased the files, or be loading your original content. I will not provide links to illegal GIN games, nor will I tell you how to get them.*
To get a game/app on your phone, you will need to have the .mif on your computer. Run GAGIN, open “nvm,” then “brew.” Copy the .mif into that folder. Restart your phone, and then open up GIN. You will have the game or app available no, but you will not be able to run it. You will have to restore it, so select your app, and run it. This will cost airtime, so I usually do it at night. Also, if a file refuses to restore, then it’s corrupt, and will not work on your phone. No file should do this, since it’s just a backup of your own content, but it’s been known to happen.
2. Q. My ringtones are too quiet, or they’re too large for my phone!
A. Download PSMPlay from www.beavermjr.com. Click on T720, then applications, and then find PSMPlay. This program is in an Asian language, so you might not be able to do much with it. There are several icons you will need to use, the scissors, the “+,” and the “-.”
- To cut your midi down to size, play it, pause it where you want, and then click on the scissors. The spot you’ve paused at will be your initial point, enter that in, and then your final point, usually about 500 frames later.
- To increase the volume, click on the “+.”
- To save your file, click “file,” then “create midi,” then ok. Then you’ll be at the standard save screen, and do what you normally would do.
